Naxos Graviera “Saganaki” (a traditional Greek dish usually served as an appetizer. It consists of cheese rolled in flour or breadcrumbs and fried or pan-seared until golden brown and crispy.)
Ingredients:
One piece of Graviera cheese (2-2.5 cm thick)
1 egg
Grated breadcrumbs
Some grated hard cheese
Freshly ground black pepper
Oil for frying
How to prepare it
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
Take the piece of Graviera cheese, dip it in the egg and then in the grated breadcrumbs mixed with the grated hard cheese and black pepper.
Once the oil is hot enough, fry the cheese on both sides until golden brown.
